Description
Shirt 'stanok' (to the waist) made from bleached hemp canvas, sewn from four parts. The sleeve is long, with an insert sewn along the warp using a seam, hemstitch, and machine stitch, with a gusset, gathered at the bottom, and finished with a trim. The sleeve is attached to the insert with an openwork seam and hemstitch, decorated with 'puffs.' The body and inserts are gathered at the neckline using the 'sewing to the collar' technique. The neckline is rectangular, finished with a trim sewn with triple hemstitch. The ends of the trim have two slit loops for a ribbon. The sleeves and inserts are embroidered with red and black threads in a floral ornament using the 'cross-stitch' technique. The insert features a horizontal pattern band of stylized roses (Rosa centifolia), connected by branches and leaves. This ornament is framed above and below by thin outlines of a geometric floral motif. Further down the sleeve, there is a scattered pattern of stylized carnations with buds.
