Description
A straight-cut "dodilna" shirt, sewn from three panels. The sleeve is straight with a gusset and a cuff, attached with stitching, gathered at the bottom with a narrow hem. The body and cuffs are gathered at the neckline with fine pleats using the "vshyvannya do komira" (sewing to the collar) technique. The "carre" neckline, with a central front slit, is finished with a narrow hem. The slit is edged with a decorative "retyaz" stitch. At the ends of the hem, there are two loop stitches (for a ribbon).
The shirt is adorned with geometric and stylized plant ornaments, embroidered "white on white" On the cuff, a narrow horizontal band features a zigzag pattern with semi-flowers inset into the dips, framed on both sides by straight lines with rhythmically repeating semi-flowers.
The upper part of the sleeve displays a wide pattern of "keys" half-diamonds, and stylized semi-flowers. The sleeve features a scattered design of stylized semi-flowers with leaves. The hem is finished with a "prutyk" (rod) stitch, decorated with a pattern of half-diamonds with minimal filling. Above this band, there is another row of stylized flowers. At the bottom, the panels are joined with a "retyaz" stitch.
