Description
Straight-cut 'stanok' shirt (to the waist), sewn from three panels. Straight sleeve with a gusset and insert sewn along the weft; gathered at the bottom with a stitched fold imitating a cuff, hemmed on the front side with a single 'vystih' stitch, and decorated at the top with five rows of 'pukhlyky' (21.5 cm long). The sleeve is joined to the body with a double 'vystih' stitch. The insert on the back side is sewn with a double 'vystih' stitch, hemmed on the front side with a single 'vystih' stitch along the sleeve attachment line, and joined to the sleeve with a 'gorodky' openwork seam. The body and inserts are gathered near the neckline into fine pleats using the 'sewing to the collar' technique. The neckline is 'kare' (square) with a central front slit (26 cm long), finished with a narrow hem stitched with a single 'vystih' at the top, a double 'vystih' at the bottom, and a wavy line between them. The hem has a small plastic button on the right and a loop buttonhole on the left. The shirt is decorated with floral embroidery in black and red threads. The insert features a garland of round eight-petal flowers with elongated leaves. The sleeve has scattered rosa centifolia with branches, leaves, and buds. The cuff is embroidered with berry branches and leaves connected in a wavy line.
Legend: The shirt was made by Maria Nychyporivna Lahoda for her daughter, Hanna Demyanivna Bezpala, a resident of the village of Karavan, Novovodolazhsky District, Kharkiv Region.
