Description
Shirt with a straight silhouette 'to the hem.' The upper part is sewn from finer ('desiatka') canvas, the lower from coarser ('visimka') canvas. The bodice and hem are sewn from six panels. The sleeve is straight, with a gusset and inset sewn along the weft; gathered at the bottom on a narrow cuff with a single overcast stitch; decorated at the top with 'puffy' gathers (8 cm long). The sleeve and inset on the back side are sewn with a double overcast stitch. The bodice and insets are gathered near the neckline into small folds using the 'sewing to the collar' technique. The neckline is 'kareshaped,' with a central slit on the front (22 cm long), hemmed on the front side with a single overcast stitch, finished with a narrow cuff with a double overcast stitch and two buttonhole loops on both sides of the cuff, tied with a strand of yellow threads. The shirt is decorated with embroidered black-and-red floral pattern. On the inset — a stripe of floral pattern (5 cm wide): roses (Rosa centifolia) with branches, leaves, and buds. On the sleeve — a scattering of ornamental motifs of the same character. On the hem — a stripe of openwork with overlay (1.7 cm wide). The hem's edge is decorated with teeth from 'double prutyks,' hemmed with a single overcast stitch.
