Description
Rushnyk made from homespun bleached canvas, embroidered with red and black threads. The ornament is floral, geometric, and ornithomorphic with added textual embroidery. The tiered composition includes: a zigzag branch; three pairs of birds with the initials 'НП' between them; rhombs; a viburnum branch with clusters and leaves; a zigzag branch; stylized fringe. The embroidered bands alternate with openwork featuring a wavy viburnum branch, birds on branches, individual flowers, and two bands with geometric ornaments. The rushnyk is hemmed with openwork, and lace with a toothed edge is sewn to the edges. Provenance: Embroidered by the mother of Antonina Ivanivna Senna, a resident of the village of Derhachi, Kharkiv Oblast.
