Description
Shirt 'to the hem' made of white hemp canvas (bodice from finer, hem from coarser canvas). Straight silhouette, bodice and hem sewn from six parts. The sleeve with an inset, sewn along the warp, with a gusset, gathered at the top and bottom, with a cuff. The bodice and insets are gathered near the neck. The neckline is round, with a central slit and two slit loops, finished with a narrow cuff. The insets and sleeves are embroidered with red and blue threads, and the cuffs with red threads, in a floral pattern using the cross-stitch technique. The insets feature a horizontal stripe of a pattern with flowers connected by branches. The sleeves have a scattering of flower bouquets. The cuffs are decorated with a thin stripe of floral pattern and scalloped teeth. The hem is adorned with a stripe of geometric-floral pattern with diamond and leaf motifs. The pattern is embroidered with white linen threads using the straight satin stitch technique. The connecting seams of the hem (6 cm from the bottom) are decorated with gray and orange woolen thread using the backstitch technique.
