Description
Rushnyk made from homespun bleached canvas, embroidered with red and black threads. The ornament is floral, ornithomorphic, anthropomorphic, and zoomorphic. The tiered composition includes: two roosters near a flowering branch; two birds near a crown with the letters 'КА'; two lush rose branches near a man standing with hands on hips, with the inscription '1915-16' above and a hare below; a large vase with a lush bouquet of flowers, flanked by birds and animals; three separate flowering branches; a wavy rose branch; factory-made lace with a geometric rhomb pattern; stylized fringe with separate floral branches. Lace with a wavy edge is sewn to the bottom. Provenance: The canvas was woven and embroidered by Hanna Vasylivna Kryvobok, a resident of the village of Kolennikovo.
