Description
Rushnyk decorated with red embroidery. The central composition on both ends is a mythical tree growing from its roots. On the middle branches, on both sides of the trunk, sits a pair of birds facing each other, pecking at berries. Around the tree, across the entire field of the rushnyk, there is a scattered pattern of floral branches. Below the tree and along the perimeter, there is a wavy branch. Provenance: Used in Kharkiv region, part of the collection of the Museum of Sloboda Ukraine named after H.S. Skovoroda.
