Description
Rushnyk made from white fabric, embroidered in red, yellow, and black threads. The ends are decorated with a combined floral and ornithomorphic ornament: two tiers of colored embroidery, openwork, and lace. The upper tier features a rooster with a wavy branch of three flowers, leaves, buds, and berries. The lower tier depicts branches with flowers, berries, and leaves. A strip of openwork is between the tiers. The edges are finished with wide lace with two scallops.
**Provenance:** Embroidered by Halyna Vasylivna Hontar, who survived the Holodomor of 1932–1933 as a child.
