Description

Sleeve of a women's shirt with embroidery arranged horizontally at the top, executed in gray and brown threads. The composition consists of two bands of geometric and stylized phytomorphic ornaments. The main motif of the geometric ornament is a zigzag line, with triangles and the 'steps' motif embroidered in the recesses. The line is bordered above and below by two bands of 'shabak' openwork. Below is an embroidered band of phytomorphic ornament. The pattern's repeat is an angle, with its vertices finished with pairs of leaves. Circles are embroidered in the middle of the angle and on either side. The lower part of the sleeve is partially gathered and embroidered with red and black zapoloch into a ruffle—'zatyahanka.' The edge of the ruffle is finished with a rolled hem.
