Description

Sleeve of a women's shirt with an inset, gusset, and cuff. The sleeve is gathered at the top into pleats and adorned with a narrow trim using the 'sewing to collar' technique. The inset is joined to the sleeve with a double 'vystih' stitch. The sleeve is gathered with 'puff' gathers in the middle. The gusset is attached to the sleeve with an auxiliary seam. The sleeve, gathered into fine pleats at the bottom, is finished with a cuff featuring a button and loop. The sleeve is decorated with a floral pattern in black and red threads: a wide band of roses with buds and leaves on the inset; large rose branches with buds on the sleeve; and a wavy branch with small flowers in the recesses on the cuff. **Provenance:** Donated to the museum collection by Halyna Vasylivna Kosenko (USSR, Ukraine, Kharkiv Oblast, Bohodukhiv District, village of Kruchyk)
