Description
Women's shirt. Straight silhouette, body sewn from two panels, 'extended.' The sleeve is long, wide, with an insert sewn along the warp, with a gusset, gathered at the bottom into a thin band. The body and inserts are heavily gathered at the neckline using the 'sewing to the collar' technique. The neckline is oval with a slit in the center, finished with a band. The band ends have a buttonhole (left) and a mother-of-pearl button (right). The sleeve, insert, and bands are sewn with 'stem stitch.' The sleeves and inserts are embroidered with red and black cotton thread in a floral ornament using the cross-stitch technique. The insert and upper part of the sleeve have a wide horizontal pattern stripe (9.14 cm) of curved rose branches (Rosa centifolia). These two patterns are framed at the top and bottom by thin borders of geometrized floral motifs. The sleeve features a scattered pattern of roses (in a small stylized vase with two roses, two buds, and four elongated leaves). The hem is hemmed with a 'bar' openwork. Parallel to it (1.5 cm above) is a second row of openwork (with filling) 2.5 cm wide. The ornament is a garland of stylized roses. Both openwork patterns are done with white linen threads.
