Description

Kersetka made of burgundy factory-produced fabric with a woven pattern of flowers, branches, and dots. Fitted silhouette; the back is split with four underarm gussets on each side, cut at the waist and widened with seven counter-pleats ('mustaches'); the front is fitted with slanted shoulder seams toward the back. Fastened with the right panel using hooks. The kersetka is decorated at the neckline, armholes, hem, and right panel with strips of black velvet of varying widths: two rows at the neckline and armholes, three rows at the hem, and a vertical closed appliqué on the front with a stylized flower at the bottom. A narrow strip of the main fabric is sewn at the waist on the back. A wider strip of the same fabric on the left panel secures the hooks. The kersetka is lined with homespun hemp canvas and factory-produced cotton fabric. **Legend:** Belonged to Frosyna Hryhorivna Kachaylova, who lived in Kharkiv Oblast, Krasnokutsk District, Parkhomivka village.
