Description
Kersetka of a fitted silhouette, sewn from blue factory-produced fabric. The back is split with two underarm gussets on each side, widened from the waist downward. The front is widened downward, with the right panel overlapping the left, originally fastened with five hooks (now missing). The neckline is edged with violet factory-produced fabric, which also reinforces the left front. The kersetka is decorated on the right front with green figured braid, and the hem is adorned with a strip of black lace sewn from two fragments. The kersetka is lined with homespun hemp canvas, with a woven pattern of eight-petal flowers on the back; a loop is sewn at the neckline.
**Legend:** Belonged to Marianna Oleksiivna Korniienko, mother of Oleksandra Fedosiivna Yashchenko, who donated the item to the museum collection. She lived in Ukraine, Sumy Oblast, Okhtyrka District, Kuzemyno village.
