Description
Rushnyk made of homespun bleached linen canvas, embroidered with red and black threads. The ornament is geometric, floral-geometric, and includes textual embroidery. The ends feature an ornamental band of rectangles and four-petal flowers alternating with each other. Below is an interrupted thin band, from which large sprawling floral branches and small heart-shaped motifs (stylized fringe) extend downward. Above the ornamental band is a narrow line with individual branches. The textual embroidery reads: on one end, 'Embroidered with a sincere hand,' and on the other, 'and asked God for happiness.' Hand-crocheted lace with a zigzag edge and a geometric pattern of large hexagons with a diamond in the center is attached to the ends.
