Description

Rushnyk made of homespun bleached hemp canvas, embroidered with red and black threads. The ornament is stylized floral, floral-geometric, and ornithomorphic. The embroidery is placed at the ends in a tiered ornament consisting of two embroidered bands and two openwork bands alternating with each other: 1) a wide embroidered band of a wavy lily branch with flowers and leaves; 2) a narrow openwork band with a geometric pattern of a wavy line with triangles in the recesses; 3) a narrow embroidered wavy lily branch with leaves; 4) a wide openwork band with a diamond pattern. The tiered ornament is repeated four times. Above it is an embroidered ornamental band of three doves (full image) perched one behind the other on branches, and three small trees. The branches and trees are connected at the bottom by curved thin branches, with six doves flying one behind the other in the recesses. Above are individual diagonal 'feathers' arranged in four rows. Hand-crocheted lace with a diamond pattern and a zigzag edge is attached to the ends.
