Description
Shirt with a straight silhouette, 'to the hem.' The body and hem are sewn from six panels (body from finer canvas 'odynadtsiatka,' hem from coarser canvas 'deviatka'). The sleeve is straight with a gusset, fully cut, with an inserted part on the inner side, gathered at the bottom into small pleats using the 'sewing to the collar' technique, finished with a narrow band with triple 'stem stitch.' The sleeve is sewn with a double 'stem stitch.' The body and upper part of the sleeve are gathered at the neckline into small pleats using the 'sewing to the collar' technique. The neckline is oval with a 30 cm slit in the center front, finished with a narrow band with triple 'stem stitch' and two buttonholes on both sides. The slit is reinforced at the bottom with a coarse stitch. The shirt is decorated with red thread embroidery of stylized grapes. The shoulder area has a horizontal pattern stripe framed above and below by a thin line with attached berries (5.5 cm wide), followed by a vertically arranged composition: four grape branches with small branches and six berries scattered between them. The neckline band has a red cross-stitch chain. The hem is hemmed with a single column, above which is a 3.5 cm wide white-on-white geometric embroidery stripe of diamond-shaped figures and semi-triangles with small cut-out squares. The connecting seams of the body are decorated at the bottom for 8 cm with a red thread zigzag embroidery. Legend: Canvas woven and sewn by Lozova Kateryna, embroidered by Lozova Domna Hryhorivna.
