Description
Rushnyk composed of two unsewn fragments of factory-produced white fabric. Each fragment consists of three parts of different widths, connected by lace inserts. The rushnyk is embroidered with red, pink, lilac, purple, blue, light brown, green, light green, yellow, and orange threads. The ornament is stylized floral. The rushnyk is decorated with a tiered composition: 1) a wavy branch with several four-petal flowers of varying sizes and leaves; 2) lace with a diamond pattern; 3) a garland of flowers with buds, leaves, and tendrils; 4) lace with a diamond pattern; 5) a garland of three large and many small flowers with leaves; 6) a symmetrical floral composition in the center of the canvas, with two branches extending upward from a central multi-petal flower, each with a multi-petal flower, buds, and leaves. The edges, lace, and one side are machine-hemmed. Handwoven lace with an ornament of large eight-petal flowers and diamonds is attached to the ends.
