Description
Rushnyk made of factory-produced white fabric, embroidered with red and black threads. The ornament is stylized floral-geometric and geometric. The rushnyk is decorated with a tiered composition: 1) embroidery resembling stylized fringe; 2) a narrow ornamental band of four-petal flowers and diamond elements; 3) seven decorative square elements composed of five diagonal figured lines and two stylized floral branches; 4) a meander; 5) a zigzag band composed of four-petal flowers, with a large flower in the recesses; 6) a meander; 7) individual branches connected by curls. Each ornamental tier is outlined with narrow red and black bands. The edges are machine-hemmed. Handwoven openwork lace with a wavy edge, ornamented with large multi-petal flowers and diamonds in a checkerboard pattern, is attached to the ends. The lace's side edges are hemmed with a narrow strip of the main fabric using a machine stitch.
