Description
Rushnyk made of factory-produced burgundy fabric, embroidered with white, blue, green, yellow, and orange threads. The ornament is stylized floral, floral-geometric, and geometric. The ends of the rushnyk feature a three-tiered ornament: 1) a wide band imitating lace with a zigzag edge and branches with four- and six-petal flowers, buds, and leaves; 2) three multi-petal flowers, framed on one side with leaves and on the other with small flowers; 3) a wide band imitating lace with a scalloped edge and branched floral motifs with leaves. One longitudinal edge is machine-hemmed. The narrower edges are hand-hemmed. Handwoven lace with a geometric 'diamond' pattern is attached to the ends, with serrated edges.
