Description
Rectangular valance made from white homespun hemp canvas, 'nine' weave. Decorated with horizontal strips of stylized floral and geometric ornaments in black and red colors along the lower edge: a wavy branch with flowers, leaves, and buds, highlighted by stylized fringe with triangles and circles at the corners. The bottom of the valance is adorned with white lace with a scalloped edge. The lace is ornamented with floral motifs: stylized flowers. Provenance: Woven, embroidered, and lace crocheted by Hurtova Pelageya Stepanivna, a resident of the village of Pashchenivka, [Bohodukhiv] District.
