Description
Rushnyk made of homespun bleached canvas, embroidered with red and blue threads. The ornament is stylized floral-geometric and geometric. The ends are decorated with a large floral branch ('tree' motif) with various flowers, buds, and leaves, above which are three geometric figures (resembling corners). The composition is framed on the sides by a 'gaba,' formed by a zigzag line extending from the side flowers of the 'tree,' and narrow bands of dotted ornament. Along the 'gaba,' floral branches with three round flowers and 'tubers' are arranged one below the other. Below the composition is a 'base,' decorated with a geometric ornament of rectangles of varying widths, with several trefoils at the corners. The edges are hand-hemmed with a hem stitch.
