Description

Rushnyk made of bleached linen canvas, embroidered with 'rushnyk stitch' using red threads, with blue and white thread accents. The ends are decorated with stylized floral and floral-geometric ornaments arranged vertically: a 'tree of life.' From an oval-shaped stem, ten thin stalks extend in all directions with large multi-petal flowers at the ends, with scattered groups of three small rectangles with leaves and curled tendrils above and below, as well as branches with leaves of various shapes and sizes. The composition is framed on three sides by a serrated band, with larger teeth at the bottom. The edges are hand-hemmed with a hem stitch. **Legend:** Part of the pre-war collection of the Museum of Sloboda Ukraine named after H.S. Skovoroda.
