Description
Rushnyk made of white fabric, embroidered with black and red threads. The ornament is stylized floral, zoomorphic, geometric, and textual. The embroidery is arranged in bands from the ends to the center: 1. geometric ornament band; 2. floral branch; 3. textual embroidery (one end: 'UNDER THE CROSS IS MY GRAVE, MY LOVE EMBROIDERED THE CROSS. HERE IT FROZE'; the other end: 'I TORE A WILTED SONG, MY STRENGTH DRIED UP AND MY BLOOD DRIED'); 4. a cross adorned with viburnum pecked by two birds, with two trees on either side and a picket fence in the foreground; 5. a composition of three wreaths (one larger, two smaller on either side), with the larger wreath containing an eight-pointed cross ending in an anchor and the digits '1912' to the left; 6. two trees; 7. a composition of two larger and three smaller wreaths and a tree arranged in a cross pattern, with the two larger wreaths in the center, one smaller wreath below, the tree above, and two smaller wreaths on either side of the tree. All compositions above the cross have surrounding monograms. The ends feature serrated lace.
