Description
Rushnyk made of homespun bleached hemp canvas, with edges decorated with three wide mirror-repeated openwork bands from the center, featuring floral ornament (Rosa centifolia, branches with leaves). The ends have serrated woven lace with floral ornament. Hemmed with 'single prutik.' The rushnyk bears the owner’s personal marks: 1) at one end, above the middle openwork band, four small rectangles joined at the corners, and below the lower band, a 'chicken foot'; 2) at the other end, above the lower openwork band, a small rectangle and a 'Bulgarian' cross.
**Legend:** Discovered during an ethnographic expedition by employees of the Kharkiv Historical Museum.
