Description
White rushnyk embroidered with red, black, gray zari thread, and white hemp threads. The ornament is floral, geometric, and narrative, executed in 'cross-stitch' and openwork techniques. The composition consists of five ornamental bands from the ends: rose branch; geometric ornament band done in openwork; floral garland; black-thread broken line; two houses united by a single gate, above which a floral vase is embroidered. The center of the rushnyk is plain. Homespun lace with geometric (diamond-shaped) ornament is sewn to the ends, using 'chain' and 'column' techniques.
