Description
White rushnyk with narrative and textual embroidery located at the ends. On one end, the composition depicts a boy and a girl sitting on a bench under a tree, with a two-line inscription below: 'My dear walks with his beloved / soon he leaves for Manchuria!' On the other end, the composition shows a girl standing by a fence, a boy walking with a rifle, with the inscription above: 'PARTING,' and a monogram 'ML' above the inscription. Below the composition is a three-line inscription: 'How my heart beats / my dear has gone to Manchuria / perhaps he won't return!' The ends of the rushnyk, finished with openwork, have lace sewn on, with each featuring two woven trees with a pair of birds sitting on either side. The lace is woven in the technique of chains and columns.
**Legend:** The rushnyk was purchased by Lyudmyla Stepanivna Myronova, an employee of the Kharkiv House of Folk Art, at the Blahovishchenskyi market and donated to the Kharkiv Historical Museum.
