Description

Women's 'to pidtochka' shirt. Straight silhouette, the upper part is made from one wide panel, the lower part from three. The sleeve is long, wide, with a gusset and shoulder inset sewn along the weft, gathered at the bottom into small pleats on a cuff with a button. The sleeves and shoulder insets are joined to the bodice with 'backstitch,' and to each other with 'backstitch' and 'puffy' gathers in the middle of the sleeve. The shoulder insets and bodice are gathered near the neckline into pleats and finished with the 'sewing to collar' technique. The neckline is oval at the back and rectangular at the front with a slit at the center front. The shoulder insets, sleeves, cuffs, and hem are embroidered with floral ornaments in red, black, and gray threads using 'cross-stitch,' 'satin stitch,' 'openwork,' and 'nightingale eyes' techniques. The shoulder inset features a horizontal band of rose patterns, framed on both sides by thin floral pattern strips. The sleeves have a scattered arrangement of roses in a checkerboard pattern. The cuffs are adorned with a narrow floral ornament band and finished with serrations. The hem is finished and decorated with openwork and an embroidered horizontal band of geometric star-shaped flowers set within the recesses of a zigzag line.
