Description
Shirt with a straight silhouette, 'to the hem.' The body and hem are sewn from six panels. The sleeve is straight with a gusset and an insert, sewn along the base, gathered at the bottom into small pleats using the 'sewing to the collar' technique, with cuffs featuring single and double 'stem stitches' at the edges, fastened with a buttonhole and a small plastic button, decorated at the top with 'puff stitches' (16 cm long). The sleeve and insert are sewn with a double 'stem stitch.' The body and inserts are gathered at the neckline into small pleats using the 'sewing to the collar' technique. The neckline is oval with a slit in the center front, finished with a narrow band with double 'stem stitch,' fastened with a buttonhole and a small plastic button. The slit is pleated (2 cm wide) and finished as a placket with double 'stem stitch.' The shirt is decorated with black and red floral and geometric ornaments. The insert is adorned with a stripe of diamond patterns with crosses, framed above and below by teeth, known as 'dribnychka,' 5 cm wide. The cuffs have a wavy line formed by roses with branches and leaves. On the hem, two white-on-white triangles are embroidered, joined at their vertices with a diamond and a cross in the center. The hem is finished with two openwork stripes: a wider one (3.5 cm) through the grid without a bar, called 'teremok,' and a narrower one (1 cm) with double columns. Legend: Used in Kharkiv region, part of the collection of the Sloboda Ukraine Museum named after G.S. Skovoroda (according to the inventory book 'TK-1').
