Description
Shirt of straight silhouette, "to the hem", body sewn from thin canvas, hem—from coarser; the body of the shirt sewn from six panels. The sleeve is straight, one-piece, with a gusset, gathered at the bottom with small pleats and finished with a narrow hem. The top of the sleeve and the body are finely ruffled near the neckline using the "sewing to the collar" technique. The neckline is round with a slit in the center front 28 cm long, hemmed with a narrow hem with two slit loops at the edges. The shirt is decorated with stylized plant-geometric ornament, executed "white on white" using "cutwork", "stem stitch", "chicken scratch" techniques (sleeve, hem) and geometric ornament, embroidered in black and red wool using "worm", "cross-stitch" techniques (hem). The sleeve on the shoulder is decorated with a horizontal stripe of ornament, composed of eight-petaled rosettes and triangles, outlined above and below with horizontal lines with "dots" and "pyramids" alternating. The sleeve field is filled with embroidery—a variant of an oak branch: vertical trunk, finished with a half-flower, and diagonal branches with leaves. The placket and hem are hemmed with a "single column". The hem is decorated with a horizontal stripe of embroidery (stylized flowers, separated by vertical columns with extensions). The joining seams of the panels along the hem are decorated with a zigzag line—"trunk" with stylized branches.
